A Brief Background of the Founder and his Profound Message to Board and Care Owners
Luis Gaurano received his MBA from Pepperdine University and got the highest grade in his Thesis titled; "How to Run Assisted Living Facilities" back in 1991. He got started in the six bed home (Residential Care Home for the Elderly, "RCFE") as a real estate commercial agent representing buyers and sellers. Afterwards, he decided to venture into the business of owning and operating his first home then growing it to five (5) six bed homes all in San Clemente creating the best and highest level of operation within a period of 4 years. He strategically chose San Clemente because of its senior population and the scenic ocean views which everyone of his properties commanded. And he also owned a forty-nine (49) facility in Palm Springs. He was recognized by the Department of Social Services / Community Care Licensing as an "Outstanding Facility Operator" and became part of their Advisory Board where he served for several years assisting with state policies. He has since left the board and care business and venture into other businesses. He sold off all his facilities and expanded into having his own Real Estate Development company where he built over 900 homes. His most priced property was a 63-acre Corner Parcel of commercial land located in Palm Springs as well as several other real estate properties. Warren Buffet's philosophy in business when analyzing a business is to ask, "What If… Then What".
